# Acceptable use & AI content policy

> What you may and may not create with GehnaLab, how AI-generated images must be labelled under India’s IT Rules, and how we handle takedowns.

Last updated: 23 October 2026 · Canonical: https://gehnalab.com/acceptable-use

GehnaLab makes AI-generated images to help jewellers show their real pieces. This policy keeps that honest and lawful. It is part of our [Terms of service](https://gehnalab.com/terms) and applies to everything you upload, generate, download or publish with the Service.

This policy is also our notice to users under Rule 3(1) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, as amended including by the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Amendment Rules, 2026 (the “IT Rules”). We will remind you of it at least once every three months.

## 1. What GehnaLab is for

Use GehnaLab to create images of jewellery you own or are authorised to sell, for your catalogue, website, marketplace listings, social media and advertising.

## 2. Content you must not upload or create

You must not use the Service to upload, create, publish or share anything that:

- you do not have the rights to, or that infringes any copyright, design, trade mark, patent or other intellectual property, including competitors’ product photos or images scraped from other websites;
- shows a real person without their written consent, or shows any child;
- is obscene, pornographic, sexually explicit, or invades anyone’s bodily privacy, including non-consensual intimate images;
- is defamatory, harassing, hateful, or insults or incites hostility on grounds of religion, caste, ethnicity, gender or other protected traits;
- promotes violence, terrorism, money laundering, gambling or any illegal activity;
- impersonates any person, brand or business, or falsely suggests endorsement;
- relates to stolen, counterfeit, smuggled or falsely hallmarked jewellery;
- threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with foreign states or public order; or
- contains malware or otherwise breaks any law in force in India.

## 3. Real people and likeness

Every model in an on-model Output is an original, AI-generated person. We do not create images of real people.

- Jobs that name a real person, such as a celebrity, actor, influencer, politician or public figure, or ask for someone’s look, style or lookalike, are rejected automatically.
- Do not upload photos of faces to have them placed in an Output, and do not edit Outputs to make a model resemble a real person.
- Do not present an AI model as a real customer, brand ambassador or celebrity wearing your piece.

If you think an Output looks like you or someone you know, tell us through our [Grievance redressal](https://gehnalab.com/grievance) page and we will remove it.

## 4. Honest product images

Buyers rely on your images. When you use Outputs to sell, you must not:

- use an Output in which the piece was altered to sell a piece that looks different, or show a piece you do not have;
- misstate metal, purity (karat), BIS hallmark, stones, size, weight, craftsmanship or finish, in the image or the listing;
- suggest that a generated scene, model, packaging, certificate or setting is real or comes with the piece; or
- use Outputs in a way that is a misleading advertisement or unfair trade practice under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

The “Piece unchanged” mark means the pixels of your piece were kept identical to your upload. Prefer these images where buyers need to judge the real piece.

## 5. AI labels and provenance

The IT Rules require synthetically generated images to be clearly identifiable. To meet them:

- every Output carries embedded provenance metadata (C2PA content credentials) identifying it as AI-generated and made with GehnaLab;
- on-model and other fully generated Outputs carry a visible “AI look” or similar label where required; and
- we do not allow these labels or identifiers to be suppressed or removed within the Service.

When you publish Outputs, you must:

- keep the visible label and metadata intact and not crop, cover, edit or strip them;
- declare that the image is AI-generated whenever a social media platform, marketplace or advertising platform asks you to; and
- follow the AI disclosure rules of each platform where you post.

Removing labels or provenance to pass an AI image off as a real photograph is a serious breach of this policy and may also break the law.

## 6. Misuse of the Service

You must not:

- try to get around our safety checks, rate limits or the real-person filter, or use prompts designed to do so;
- probe, scan or test the Service for vulnerabilities without our written permission, or interfere with other users;
- use bots, scrapers or automated tools except through an API we have provided to you;
- copy, resell or sublicense access to the Service, or reverse engineer it; or
- use the Service or its Outputs to train, test or improve a competing image-generation product.

## 7. What we do about breaches

If we find or are told about content or conduct that breaks this policy, we may, depending on how serious it is: refuse the job, remove or disable access to the content, warn you, suspend or close your account, preserve the information and report it to law enforcement where the law requires. We will tell you what we did and why, unless the law or an investigation prevents it.

Credits used on content we remove for breaching this policy are not refunded.

## 8. Reporting content and takedown timelines

Anyone can report content made or stored with GehnaLab through our [Grievance redressal](https://gehnalab.com/grievance) page. We act within the timelines set by the IT Rules:

|  |  |
| --- | --- |
| Court or government orders | Content removed or disabled within the time set in the order and the IT Rules, which may be as short as 3 hours. |
| Non-consensual intimate images, or images showing a person’s body or likeness falsely | Content removed or disabled within 2 hours of a complaint by the person concerned or someone on their behalf. |
| Other complaints | Acknowledged within 24 hours and resolved within 15 days, or sooner where the IT Rules require. |
